Mad & Sexy

What does it mean to be Mad and have a sexuality? How are mental health survivors and consumers are seen in the media, by the mental health system, by doctors, by ourselves? What narratives just don't fit, and how can we rewrite them?

From the manic pixie dream girl to hysteria, deviance and beyond, it's time to take back our stories.

In this workshop we'll use the arts - visual, movement, writing - to navigate the complex intersections of sexuality and mental health.

No art experience required. Let's play with the stereotypes, share our experiences, and create new, more empowered and authentic representations!

Note: this workshop will explore difficult themes such as mental health and stigma. We will use the arts to hold us and take a more playful, less pathologizing view. You are ALWAYS welcome to step out at any time and do what you need to take care of yourself. I strive to create a safe(er) space so please let us know of any accessibility needs.
